The experimental high energy physics group at the University of Arizona invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position with our ATLAS experimental group at the LHC at CERN. Depending on performance, successful completion of responsibilities, and availability of funding, this position may be renewable for additional time. The primary responsibilities for this position are: to participate in our ATLAS Run 3 physics program studying Higgs boson pair production; to further develop and calibrate algorithms for tagging boosted Higgs boson decays; to explore novel applications of machine learning to particle physics data analysis and detector hardware; and to contribute to ongoing Phase II upgrade activities at Arizona. The position will also include supervision of both graduate and undergraduate student researchers. This is a year-to-year appointment, contingent upon funding and performance.

Duties & Responsibilities: The research activities in the Physics Dept's high-energy group are focused on experimental high energy physics and with the ATLAS experimental group at the LHC at CERN In Geneva, Switzerland.

Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidates will have a strong record in physics data analysis, calibration/combined performance, and applications of machine learning techniques.
