Position Description:

The Institute of Physics at the Academia Sinica invites applications from outstanding theoretical scientists for a tenure-track faculty position in the Medium and High-energy Physics Group to enhance and develop its research programs, and to initiate and lead new directions. The position is open for all ranks, including assistant, associate, and full research fellow (equivalent to university faculty). We strongly encourage individuals from underrepresented identities to apply.

Academia Sinica is the leading basic research institution in Taiwan, government funded and made up of an increasingly international community of scholars. The group covers all major areas of nuclear, particle, astroparticle physics, and cosmology. In particular, there are active theory programs on heavy flavor physics and CP-violation, perturbative QCD, relativistic kinetic theory, high-energy nuclear collisions, nuclear astrophysics, particle astrophysics, beyond standard model phenomenology, early universe and cosmology. Besides the theory group, the experimental groups here conduct active experimental and instrumentation programs on collider, hadron structure, cosmic rays, neutrinos, dark matter and beyond standard model physics. We are key participants in international collaborations like AMS, ATLAS/LHC, CDEX, COMPASS/CERN, IceCube, KAGRA, LEPS/SPring-8, LIGO, SeaQuest/FNAL, and Telescope Array, while leading a domestic TEXONO experiment on reactor neutrinos. This position can be made available for new research areas. Successful candidates will be granted initial start-up research funding support. Faculty members of Academia Sinica can teach and supervise graduate students in the country's research universities, on a voluntary basis.
