Post-Doctoral Research Associate Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collisions

The Purdue High Energy Nuclear Physics group studies relativistic heavy-ion collisions as members of the STAR and sPHENIX experiments at RHIC, and the CMS experiments at the LHC. Our primary physics interests are in the areas of particle correlations and heavy flavor production to elucidate the properties of high-density QCD and the QGP. The group is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position focused on the CMS experiment at the LHC, with a modest amount of effort directed to ePIC at EIC. The position can start as early as August 1st, 2024, and applications are open until the position is filled. The successful candidate is expected to lead a significant physics initiative in advancing CMS heavy flavor physics program in heavy-ion collisions and contribute to ePIC detector R&D projects. This appointment is for one year, renewable for up to three years. A Ph.D. in physics or a related field is required at the time of appointment.
