Position Description:
   

The Cornell Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy at Cornell University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position. We seek an independent and highly motivated researcher with strong skills in quantitative social science research methods and knowledge of US health policy. The Associate will work closely with a team led by Dr. Sharon Tennyson at Cornell and Dr. Wendy Brunner at Bassett Research Institute on an NIMHD grant entitled “School Based Health Centers - An approach to address health disparities among rural youth”. This project will assess the impact of School Based Health Centers on healthcare utilization and outcomes and will examine how SBHCs may enhance rural community health by building individual, institutional, community and policy partnerships.

The responsibilities of this position involve designing and conducting research studies that meet the aims of our project, leading in data preparation, management and analysis, supporting graduate students and other personnel, and writing research manuscripts. The candidate will pursue established questions and will also have latitude to develop their own questions within the context of the project.

Successful candidates will have received a doctorate prior to starting the position. Candidates should have a scholarly record that displays a commitment to advancing research on health policy. Preferred skills include knowledge of R/Stata/GIS programming methods, familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems, experience working with raw survey data and econometric approaches are a plus. 

This is a 1-year position with the possibility of renewal based on performance reviews. The position will begin as early as October 2024. Pay Ranges:

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

  • Prior relevant work or industry experience.
  • Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
  • Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
  • Unique applicable skills.
