The Physics Department at Stanford University invites you to apply for a postdoctoral position in experimental particle physics with Associate Professor Lauren Tompkins. The successful candidate will participate in two electron beam experiments aimed at discovery of thermal relic dark matter. The first is an experiment at Jefferson National Laboratory, the Heavy Photon Search (HPS), whose primary goal is the detection of visible decays of the dark photon. The second is the Light Dark Matter eXperiment (LDMX), a proposed experiment to be sited at SLAC, which searches for missing momentum signatures of thermal relic dark matter.

The Stanford group, led by Professor Lauren Tompkins, is responsible for the trigger scintillator system of LDMX, and contributes to the overall TDAQ system, as well as to software and data analysis. This position is to be based at Stanford with occasional travel to JLAB for HPS data taking and elsewhere for meetings and collaboration. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
