Position Description

The condensed matter theory group of Professor Junghoon Han at Sungkyunkwan University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in quantum information and condensed matter theory.

A successful candidate will conduct theoretical research either at the interface of quantum many-body physics and quantum field theory, or in traditional themes of solid state physics. Topics of interest include but are not limited to topological anyon models, tensor network and string nets. On the solid state side, research on orbital dynamics is likely to take place though other interesting and timely problems are always open.

A Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field is required. Candidates with strong numerical skills on DMRG and/or tensor-network are especially encouraged to apply. The initial appointment will be one year, renewable up to three years. The start date of the appointment can be anywhere between March 2025 and November 2025. Compensation for the position will be competitive among institutions in South Korea. Additional travel support is available.
