The Department of Mass Communication, Advertising and Public Relations at Boston University seeks to hire an internationally recognized leader and accomplished public relations professional to serve as the Sandra R. Frazier Professor of the Practice of Public Relations. The successful candidate should have significant leadership experience in public relations practice and a strong international reputation as a public relations practitioner. We seek a forward-thinking colleague who has demonstrated engagement in the profession through active participation in and leadership of associations such as the Arthur W. Page Society, Page Up, Institute for Public Relations, Public Relations Society of America, International Public Relations Association, or any other national or international public relations associations, and will help lead our public relations degree programs into the future. Candidates for this position should have the capacity to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in BU’s Public Relations degree programs especially our business fundamentals and strategic management courses. In addition to teaching, this role will include mentoring students to achieve their educational and professional goals, and conducting service for the College of Communication and Boston University through participation in various committees. Established in 1947, the College of Communication (COM) at Boston University has three departments: Mass Communication, Advertising and Public Relations; Journalism, and Film and Television. COM’s student population exceeds 2,200 in its B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. programs. COM integrates a strong liberal arts core with a focus on preparing students for careers as communications professionals. The faculty represents a blend of award-winning scholars and award-winning practitioners. BU enjoys an international reputation and is a major R1 and AAU institution.
