The journalism skillset taught by this position is at the core of the department's goal of graduating communicators who can develop meaningful content across a range of media.

Berry's Communication program comprises four concentrations: Digital and Social Media, Filmmaking and Cinematic Arts, Public Relations, and Communication and Media Studies. We are a vibrant, collegial department focused on preparing students for the media industry and graduate studies. Our students create content inside and outside the classroom, working with five student-run media organizations producing short films, photo essays, digital content, and more. Berry student media regularly win national awards for their excellence, with some of that content coming directly from the classroom.

Primary teaching responsibilities include Content Development and Content Creation, two foundational skills courses required of all of our majors, and Social Media Management and Strategy. The ability to teach courses in our filmmaking concentration, such as documentary filmmaking or scriptwriting, is desirable. We are especially interested in candidates who will advance Berry's culture of diversity and belonging and who will flourish in a liberal arts environment.
