Position Description:
   

The Department of Biology at Duke University in Durham, NC is planning to hire three Assistant Professors in ecology, evolution, and/or organismal biology. We will consider all candidates in these disciplines, but we are especially interested in candidates with a focus on plant and/or fungal biology. Successful candidates will articulate how their scholarship will enrich, and be enriched by, the breadth of expertise among existing faculty in our department, and how their teaching and mentoring efforts will support our undergraduate and graduate students.

Duke Biology is the intellectual home for more than 50 faculty members whose research programs span the discipline of Biology (including developmental biology, cell biology, molecular biology, ecology, evolution, organismal biology, and genomics). Many of our biologists take advantage of our department’s Research Greenhouses and Phytotron or conduct research within the 7000-acre Duke Forest Teaching and Research Laboratory, or the Duke Marine Lab. More than 100 PhD students work with Biology faculty through the Biology PhD program and multiple interdisciplinary training programs. Our undergraduate major graduates ~175 students annually with more than half of our majors conducting independent research. Learn more about Duke Biology at our website https://biology.duke.edu/.
