The Institute for Theoretical Physics of the Albert Einstein Center for Fundamental Physics at the University of Bern expects to have one or more postdoctoral positions available, starting in October 2025.

The faculty at the institute consists of Thomas Becher, Matthias Blau, Gilberto Colangelo, Christoph Greub, Valentin Hirschi, Martin Hoferichter, Mikko Laine, Susanne Reffert, Fernando Romero-López and Urs Wenger. Research areas include collider physics, effective field theories, thermal field theory, flavour physics, lattice gauge theory, string theory and supersymmetry. Applicants must also indicate the faculty member in Bern with whom they are most likely to interact. This is a required question, and if it is not answered, the application will be considered incomplete.

Due to rules concerning funding provided by the Swiss National Science Foundation, for some of our positions the applicants should have at most three years of postdoctoral experience at the time that they start here.

Priority will be given to applications submitted before December 1, 2024.
