The Program in Translation and Intercultural Communication (PTIC) at the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies (PIIRS) and the Council of the Humanities invites applications for an appointment as a Translator in Residence for one academic semester, either fall or spring, during academic years 2025-26 and 2026-27. Interviews for all four semesters will be conducted in January 2025. The primary rank will be Professional Specialist, and the successful candidate will carry a secondary rank of Lecturer if performing teaching responsibilities. Any teaching role is contingent on sufficient course enrollments and the prior approval of the Dean of the Faculty. The successful candidate for each semester will be an established translator into English with projects currently in progress, and will be expected to contribute to PIIRS, PTIC, the Council, and/or the Program in Creative Writing by supervising independent work for the Minor in Translation and/or Creative Writing in consultation with the relevant program director; mentoring student translators; and participating in other responsibilities as appropriate; The Translator in Residence must hold weekly office hours.
