Position Description:
   

The Physics Department at Northeastern University seeks a postdoctoral researcher in cosmology. The successful candidate will work with Prof. Jonathan Blazek as well as the broader cosmology group at Northeastern on topics related to weak gravitational lensing, galaxy clustering, and combined-probe cosmological analyses. Depending on skill set and interests, the fellow will have the flexibility to work on several interesting projects, including the Dark Energy Science Collaboration (Vera Rubin Observatory) and the Roman Space Telescope. Candidates with a range of interests in observational and theoretical cosmology are encouraged to apply.

Located in the heart of Boston, Northeastern is a vibrant research university benefiting from connections between departments and with several surrounding institutions. The Physics Department has strong research programs in theoretical and experimental particle physics and a growing astrophysics/cosmology group. Northeastern is part of the NSF AI Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Fundamental Interactions (https://iaifi.org/), which provides an exciting venue for collaboration across several area institutions.

The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy, or a relevant field by the start date. A start in Summer or Fall 2025 is preferred. The position is initially for two years, with the possibility of a third year dependent on performance and the availability of funding.
