  URMs

Queen’s University and the Arthur B McDonald Canadian Astroparticle Physics Research Institute (McDonald Institute) have postdoctoral fellowships available open to researchers working in fields of astroparticle physics and astrophysics, including astroparticle theory, galactic and extragalactic astronomy, particle phenomenology, cosmology, and high energy theory beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year.

Applicants will be selected based on their ability to conduct independent theory research and their potential to collaborate with the astroparticle researchers and astrophysicists at Queen’s University, including faculty Joseph Bramante, Kristine Spekkens, Lawrence Widrow, Aaron Vincent, and other postdoctoral fellows. Three year appointments are available, with renewal after the second year. Salary will be competitive with postdoctoral positions in North America and commensurate with experience. Applicants are required to have a PhD in physics or astronomy prior to starting the postdoctoral fellowship.

Candidates should provide a CV including publications, a statement of research interests, and arrange for two reference letters to be uploaded to this website. A cover letter is not required, but we encourage candidates to emphasize their overlap and potential contribution to research at Queen's. Applications received before December 10th 2024 will be given full consideration.

Employment Equity: Queen’s University invites applications from all qualified candidates. Queen's is committed to employment equity and diversity in the workplace and welcomes applications from women, visible minorities, Aboriginal peoples, persons with disabilities, and persons of any sexual orientation or gender identity.
