Tenure Track Faculty Position at Temple University in Philadelphia, USA

The College of Engineering at Temple University is inviting applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. While all candidates will be considered, this year’s searches are focused on the following areas:

Systems: embedded systems, computer architecture, operating systems, sensor systems, and intelligent systems.

Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related fields. Successful candidates are expected to establish active externally funded research programs and to achieve excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Salaries for new faculty are highly competitive, and substantial resources have been allocated for start-up funding.

The College of Engineering is located at Temple University’s main campus, in the thriving city of Philadelphia – a city at the forefront of science and technology. Philadelphia is also the second largest city on the East Coast and home to historic events, such as the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Temple University, founded in 1888, is one of the nation's distinguished comprehensive universities with an enrollment over 40,000 and is an invaluable asset for the intellectual, economic, and social enrichment of Pennsylvania.

The Department currently has 14 full-time faculty, 200+ undergraduate students, and 40+ graduate students, and offers academic programs leading to ABET accredited BSEE, MSEE, and ECE PhD degrees. The Department has a growing research program that includes power systems, cyber security, sensing systems, neural engineering, signals, and communication with external funding from various federal and industrial sources including NSF, NIH, ONR, NASA, DoD, and DARPA. In addition, the faculty has strong research collaboration with Temple Medical School, the Department of Bioengineering, the Department of Computer and Information Science, Fox School of Business, and Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, the hub of future electric ships.
