Position Description

The Collaborative Research Center (CRC) "Particle Physics Phenomenology after the Higgs discovery", established by the German Research Foundation (DFG), is a joint venture of particle theorists from RWTH Aachen University, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), University of Siegen and Heidelberg University. Scientists of the Collaborative Research Center conduct research in particle physics phenomenology broadly defined, including Higgs boson and top-quark physics, QCD and hadron collider physics, B-physics and dark matter physics. Members of the CRC are also interested in developing theoretical tools aimed at advancing particle physics phenomenology, such as perturbative computations in quantum field theory, machine learning, effective field theories, global fits, etc.

The Center invites applications for a number of postdoctoral positions in theoretical particle physics (hep-ph) with a starting date in the fall of 2025. Applications should be submitted via Academic Jobs Online (AJO) at https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/28947 and should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a short summary of research interests and future research plans. Applicants should arrange for three letters of reference from senior scientists to be submitted through AJO.

All applicants should indicate the research areas of the CRC and/or names of principal investigators they would like to work with (several choices can be given). More information about the research projects of the CRC can be found at the following URL https://p3h.particle.kit.edu/research

The Collaborative Research Center values diversity and encourages women and members of groups underrepresented in academia to apply. Applicants with disabilities will be given preference if equally qualified. The deadline for applications is December 20, 2024. Later applications will be considered until all positions are filled.

More information about the Collaborative Research Center as well as particle theory groups at participating universities can be found at https://p3h.particle.kit.edu/ and further links there. Additional inquiries about the Collaborative Research Center should be addressed either to the spokesperson of the CRC, Prof. Gudrun Heinrich gudrun.heinrich@kit.edu, or to the principal investigators of individual projects.

Application Materials Required:
Submit the following items online at this website to complete your application:
  • Cover letter
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Research statement
  • Three reference letters (to be submitted online by the reference writers on this site help popup)
And anything else requested in the position description.
