Position Description
POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS IN THEORETICAL PHYSICS
INSTITUTE FOR THEORETICAL PHYSICS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF HEIDELBERG
The particle physics and cosmology division of the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Heidelberg invites applications for postdoctoral positions in theoretical physics. The positions are expected to be filled in the fall of 2025.
The appointment is for a period of two years. (Later extension to three years is possible.)
In addition, several associated professors, about 20 junior scientists and postdocs, and 35 postgraduate students work in the division.
The division runs a lively international visitor program. The research covers a wide range of topics in particle theory, including in particular particle-cosmology, cosmic structure formation, particle phenomenology, quantum chromodynamics, heavy ion collisions, physics beyond the standard model, quantum gravity, string theory, non-perturbative and non-equilibrium quantum field theory, with applications to ultracold quantum gases.
