Position Description

Postdoctoral Researcher in the Dunn lab at Duke University

We seek a full-time postdoctoral researcher to work at Duke University on a project at the interface of neuroscience and machine learning.

We seek to advance our understanding of neural systems and neurological disorders through the development of new computational approaches for 3D movement analysis. Our goal is to probe the neural bases of natural behaviors while also enabling more objective and sensitive drug and disease phenotyping.

Specific Work Performed

·       Design experiments and collect data, or collaborate with lab members on data collection and experiment design.

·       Develop and/or utilize new machine learning methods for 3D behavior tracking and analysis.

·       Advise PhD students on related projects.

Other Work Performed and Expectations

·       Document progress consistently and add progress reports to the lab archive.

·       Attend weekly lab meetings.

·       Communicate with staff and students in the lab, and assist in training new lab members to use established protocols.

·       Publish manuscripts reporting the project’s progress and innovations.

Applicants must have a PhD by the position start date. The applicant should be an expert in Python programming and deep learning APIs and should have a track record of publication in this or a related field.
