Durham University, Department of Mathematical Sciences
Position Description
The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Durham University invites applications for several 3-year postdoctoral positions in the field of generalised symmetries. Research areas of interest include mathematical foundations, symmetries in quantum field theory, gravity and string theory, and applications to theoretical high-energy and condensed matter physics.
Successful candidates will join a vibrant and collaborative research community within the Mathematical and Theoretical Physics Group. The group features renowned experts in generalised symmetries, including Mohamed Anber, Andreas Braun, Mathew Bullimore, Iñaki García Etxebarria, Nabil Iqbal, Tom Rudelius, and Tin Sulejmanpasic, as well as a team of talented postdoctoral researchers.
Appointees will have the opportunity to contribute to the activities of the Simons Collaboration on Global Categorical Symmetries (García Etxebarria) and/or the ERC Consolidator Grant on Symmetries and Spectra (Bullimore).
