Position Description

The Department of Physics at Old Dominion University invites applicants for a postdoctoral research associate position in theoretical nuclear/particle physics beginning around Summer/Fall 2025. The successful applicant will join the group under the supervision of Prof. Arkaitz Rodas Bilbao to conduct research performed jointly at Old Dominion University and Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility. The position is a two-year, restricted appointment, subject to funding availability and satisfactory progress.

Candidates should have experience working with at least one of the following fields: lattice QCD, Effective Field Theory, Scattering Theory, and/or high-performance computing, demonstrated with a competitive track record in these or closely related fields. Additionally, a strong grasp of quantum chromodynamics, statistics and scattering theory is required.

Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree in theoretical nuclear or particle physics by the starting date.
