Position Description
Purpose:
We invite candidates to apply for a Postdoctoral Fellowship to perform research in Theoretical Cold Atom Physics within the group of Prof. Jean-Sébastien Bernier based at the University of Northern British Columbia. This is a fully funded position under the scope of the NSERC Alliance International Collaborative project “Dynamical and environment control of ultracold atomic Fermi Gases”. As this project is a collaboration between the University of Northern British Columbia (Canada) and the University of Bonn (Germany), the candidate will have the opportunity to interact with the groups of Prof. Michael Köhl, Prof. Corinna Kollath and Dr. Ameneh Sheikhan through research stays in Germany. The starting date could be as soon as mid-February 2025 and the appointment is expected to last three (3) years, subject to satisfactory annual performance.
Qualification:
The successful candidate must have a PhD in theoretical physics with a strong background in quantum many-body physics and previous research experience in theoretical condensed matter and/or cold atom physics.
Salary Range:
$50,000 - $60,000 cad.
