Position Description
The Theoretical High-Energy Physics Group at the University of Padua is looking to hire several postdoctoral fellows in the field of theoretical astroparticle physics. The successful candidates will work with Edoardo Vitagliano in the context of the project "Axions and Dark Sectors: Tests on EaRth and from Astrophysics", recently awarded by the Italian Science Fund. The starting date is expected to be in the fall of 2025 or earlier. The positions are expected to be for two years with possible extension to a third year. We particularly invite applications from candidates with expertise in astrophysics (including, but not limited to, stellar evolution and compact objects) interested in working on particle physics beyond the standard model. The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Padua has a strong and exciting research program with interests in all fields of high energy theory. The department keeps close ties with INFN and the positions will include an INFN association. The high-energy theory group at the Department and INFN Padua includes F. D'Eramo, L. Di Luzio, M. Fael, F. Feruglio, R. Gröber, M. K. Mandal, A. Masiero, P. Mastrolia, P. Paradisi, M. Passera, M. Peloso, S. Rigolin, P. Sørensen, A. Titov, L. Vecchi, E. Vitagliano, F. Zwirner, plus several postdocs and students. We also maintain close ties to the research groups in string theory and cosmology. Further information about the Department can be found at https://www.dfa.unipd.it and information about the Theoretical Physics Group of INFN Padua can be found at https://www.pd.infn.it/it/gruppo-4/gruppo-iv-membri/. Potential candidates should submit their CV (including a publication list and INSPIRE profile link), a statement of research interests, and three letters of recommendation uploaded through the Academic Jobs Online portal. Material submitted before January 10th 2025 will receive full consideration.Application Materials Required:
Submit the following items online at this website to complete your application:
- Cover letter
- Curriculum Vitae
- Research statement
- Three reference letters (to be submitted online by the reference writers on this site )
And anything else requested in the position description.
