Position Description
The Department of Physics at Stockholm University invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow position in experimental axion search research. The Stockholm University group is rapidly expanding and currently includes four senior scientists and two postdoctoral researchers, including Nobel laureate and ALPHA Project Scientist Frank Wilczek. Further recruitment of both PhD students and postdocs is planned to strengthen the team. This project focuses on searching for dark matter axions using a novel conducting array detector known as the plasma haloscope. Stockholm University plays a leading role in this effort, with key contributions to the development of reliable resonator tuning mechanisms, advanced photon detection techniques, and a robust analysis framework. The successful candidate will participate in the development of tunable wire-metamaterial resonators for the ALPHA experiment and take a leadership role in developing superconducting cavities and photon-detection techniques for future ALPHA upgrades. Applicants must hold a PhD in experimental particle physics or a related field, with preference given to candidates with experience in cryogenics and microwave engineering. Applications should include a cover letter, a CV, a list of publications, a brief research proposal (no more than 3 pages), and up to three letters of recommendation. Inquiries may be directed to Professor Jun-Woo Jeoung at jun-woo.jeoung@fysik.su.se.We are not accepting applications for this job through AcademicJobsOnline.Org right now.
