Position Description

QBio Junior Research Chair (JRC), QBio initiative, Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS)-Université Paris Sciences & Lettres (PSL), Paris, France

The ENS-PSL QBio interdisciplinary initiative on Quantitative Biology seeks candidates for a 2+1-year independent postdoctoral research position (QBio Junior Research Chair). The initiative aims to federate and structure the long-standing multidisciplinary tradition and strengths of ENS-PSL at the frontier of life sciences. Several disciplines are involved, ranging from biology to chemistry, cognitive and computational sciences, mathematics, and physics (see the QBio Website at https://qbio.ens.psl.eu/en).

Awardees will develop their independent research program, with their position starting in the Fall of 2025. It is open to all researchers holding a Ph.D. at the time of starting the position, in the broad area of theoretical quantitative biology and life sciences. All areas of life sciences studied in ENS departments and PSL institutions affiliated with the initiative on Quantitative Life Sciences (Qlife) are covered by the call. Applications highlighting how researchers can interact and foster collaborations between existing ENS departments and/or PSL quantitative biology groups will be appreciated. The position includes an internationally competitive salary.

Applications should be filed through the AcademicJobsOnline website. They should include a Cover Letter, a Resume with a list of publications, a Research statement that takes into account possible interactions with research groups/faculty within the ENS Qbio initiative (maximum four A4 pages), and three letters of recommendation from senior scientists. Candidates are encouraged to make early contact with faculty to construct their project and shall refer to these contacts in the research statement.

Schedule Closing date: March 16, 2025. Short-listed candidates will be interviewed at the mid-end of April 2025. The final decision will be made right after the interviews, for a position starting in the Fall of 2025.
