The Advanced Materials and Surface Science Group (https://www.iams.sinica.edu.tw/en/?link=rarea&;id=2) at the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences (IAMS), Academia Sinica, invites applications for tenure-track and tenured faculty positions at the ranks of Research Fellow, Associate Research Fellow, or Assistant Research Fellow. 

Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent degree with postdoctoral experience. The successful candidates are expected to conduct independent research, demonstrate strong communication skills, and exhibit leadership potential within their respective fields.

Areas of Expertise 
We are particularly seeking experimentalist specializing in the following areas:

      Electronic Structure and Dynamics in Advanced Materials

•          Objective: achieving atomic-precision control and characterization of materials to deepen the understanding of their fundamental properties.
•          Relevant Keywords: advanced material synthesis, ultrafast phenomena in solids, electronic properties, light-matter interactions, optical spectroscopy, quantum transport, and advanced material characterization techniques.

Energy Materials and Properties

•          Objective: developing advanced materials and technologies for efficient energy generation and conversion, contributing to sustainable energy management.
•          Relevant Keywords: fuel cells, thermoelectrics, photovoltaics, energy storage, advanced characterization.

Quantum Properties of Solids, Quantum Materials, and Quantum Technology

•          Objective: advancing the boundaries of quantum science by exploring and evaluating quantum systems for innovative technologies.
•          Relevant Keywords: advanced spectroscopy, quantum transport, ultrafast and non-linear optics, superconductivity, topological insulators, quantum technology, and advanced characterization.

Academia Sinica, located in Taipei, Taiwan, is a prestigious research institution dedicated to advancing fundamental research. The Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences serves as a multidisciplinary center of excellence, with projects spanning spectroscopy, molecular dynamics, advanced materials synthesis and analysis, biophysics, and the development of analytical tools for biomolecules.

IAMS currently hosts 26 full-time Research Fellows, one Research Specialist, one Assistant Research Specialist, and eight Adjunct Research Fellows across four research groups:

•          Advanced Materials and Surface Science
•          Atomic Physics and Optical Science
•          Biophysics and Bio-analytical Technology
•          Chemical Dynamics and Spectroscopy

The institute accommodates nearly 200 visiting scientists, postdoctoral associates, students, and research assistants, including approximately 90 master's and Ph.D. students. IAMS is an active participant in the Taiwan International Graduate Program (TIGP) and hosts the Molecular Science and Technology Program (TIGP-MST) for international graduate students (https://tigp.iams.sinica.edu.tw/).
