Position Description
The Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy at Cornell University seeks applicants for a Research Associate to work in the Center on Global Democracy under Professor and Director Rachel Beatty Riedl. The Center on Global Democracy tackles the fundamental questions facing democracies, serving as a hub for research and learning to strengthen democratic institutions. Through targeted research and public engagement, we aim to reverse democratic declines and bolster democracy worldwide.The Cornell Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy was established in 2021 to tackle the most pressing policy challenges we face in the U.S. and globally. To advance this goal, we are hiring world-class research scholars and educators across a variety of disciplines who are oriented toward policy engagement and impact.
• Organize, communicate with, and help supervise student interns/fellows.
• Assist in data analysis and interpretation.
• Prepare e-modules, partner with external entities to provide certificates and other course materials, with an emphasis on community engagement for democratic participation, civics, and rights.
• Coordinate partnerships with NGOs and other partner organizations.
• Strong background in scientific research with active involvement in projects.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to engage with a diverse audience, including the public, media, and academic peers.

Pay Ranges:
The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:
- Prior relevant work or industry experience.
- Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
- Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
- Unique applicable skills.
