Postdoctoral Fellowship in Theoretical Particle Cosmology, University of Pennsylvania

The Center for Particle Cosmology at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship to begin in September 2026.

The fellowship is in theoretical particle cosmology, broadly interpreted, ranging from the formal to the phenomenological sides of the field. The successful candidate will have interests that overlap significantly with those of Profs. Justin Khoury, Hayden Lee and Mark Trodden, but will be free to work on topics of his/her choice, and encouraged to collaborate with other students, postdocs and faculty at Penn. The Center for Particle Cosmology spans a broad swath of theoretical physics, ranging from theoretical astrophysics (with Profs. Bhuvnesh Jain, Mathew Madhavacheril, Adam Lidz, Robyn Sanderson and Ravi Sheth) to formal high energy theory (with Profs. Vijay Balasubramanian, Mirjam Cvetic and Jonathan Heckman). We also have a lively experimental program in cosmology and particle physics, with involvement in DES, DESI, Roman, Rubin Observatory, the Simons Observatory, other galaxy and CMB surveys and particle physics experiments with Penn leadership. More information on the research activities of the Center is available at https://particlecosmo.sas.upenn.edu.

The initial appointment is for one year, renewable up to three years, and offers competitive salary, benefits, and research allowance.
