Adjunct Professor of Biology

Department of Biology, Harvey Mudd College

Harvey Mudd College invites applications for a one-semester adjunct faculty position in the Biology Department, beginning spring 2026. We are seeking candidates with research experience in any area of molecular or cellular biology and a strong interest in teaching. The teaching assignment is 1-2 sections of a non-majors introductory laboratory course with a focus on molecular biology. The course runs from 1:15-5:05 pm on Monday through Friday, and one section is equivalent to one afternoon per week. The salary is $8,500 per section, which is the standard rate per course for adjunct faculty.

Harvey Mudd College is a small and highly selective private undergraduate college of science, mathematics, and engineering. In their first two years, all Harvey Mudd students complete a core curriculum comprising courses in biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, mathematics, and physics, as well as the humanities, social sciences and arts. The successful applicant's teaching will be a part of this core curriculum. Harvey Mudd is a member of The Claremont Colleges (http://www.claremont.edu), a group that includes four other undergraduate colleges and two graduate institutions. Claremont is about 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
