Position Description

The AI + Quantum Group at the Department of Physics, Tsinghua University, invites applications for postdoctoral and research scientist positions in the interdisciplinary field of artificial intelligence and quantum science. Successful candidates will work closely with Prof. Di Luo and collaborators across Tsinghua University on cutting-edge topics at the intersection of AI, quantum matter, and quantum computation. The initial appointment is for two years, with the possibility of renewal or promotion to a senior research position contingent on mutual agreement and performance. Outstanding applicants will be recommended for the prestigious “Shuimu Tsinghua Scholar” Fellowship (https://postdoctor.tsinghua.edu.cn/info/zxtz/2174) or equivalent talent programs. We offer internationally competitive compensation packages (RMB 300 K + with fellowship) and comprehensive benefits, including high-quality medical insurance, rent-subsidized on-campus housing, support for children’s education, and retirement plans. Researchers enjoy a high degree of academic freedom and a stimulating collaborative environment that bridges physics, mathematics, computer science, and quantum engineering.

How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit an electronic application here at www.academicjobsonline.org (or send the application to the email diluo@mail.tsinghua.edu.cn) . A complete application should include a cover letter briefly describing research interests, a curriculum vitae with a publication list, a short research statement outlining past achievements and future plans, and at least two reference letters sent directly by referees. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until positions are filled, and early submission by Oct. 25 is given priority. Candidates from diverse academic backgrounds such as physics, mathematics, computer science, chemistry, materials science, and electrical engineering are welcome to apply. Applicants with strong foundations in any of the following sub fields are especially encouraged: (1) statistical mechanics, condensed-matter theory, quantum field theory; (2) tensor networks, quantum information, quantum algorithms; (3) machine learning, generative models, large language models, reinforcement learning, agent learning, robotic control; (4) quantum materials simulation, density functional theory, catalysis and transition-state theory, molecular dynamics; (5) optimization theory, numerical analysis, and applied mathematics. Our Research Interests:

The AI + Quantum Group focuses on the frontier of AI + Quantum—the deep integration of artificial intelligence with quantum matter and quantum computation. Our research includes • AI for Quantum: developing advanced AI algorithms grounded in physical principles and machine learning theory to tackle key challenges in quantum information, atomic-molecular-optical physics, condensed-matter systems, and high-energy physics. • Quantum for AI: building next-generation AI models inspired by quantum mechanics and statistical physics, exploring quantum-informed architectures, reinforcement learning, and robotic intelligence to create autonomous “AI scientists” and pathways toward general intelligence. • Quantum Information & Computation: designing efficient quantum algorithms and theoretical frameworks across diverse hardware platforms to address problems in quantum control, measurement, error correction, simulation, and optimization. Our team values both theoretical depth and algorithmic innovation, emphasizing collaboration across disciplines and with experimental groups. We aim to cultivate a vibrant research environment that drives breakthroughs in AI, quantum materials, and quantum information science.

We are not accepting applications for this job through AcademicJobsOnline.Org right now. Please see the job description above on how to apply.
