Position Description

The Condensed Matter Theory group at the University of California, Davis invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position in Theoretical Condensed Matter.

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Tessa Cookmeyer and is expected to collaborate on the execution and design of theoretical studies of many-body phenomena as they arise in quantum materials, quantum magnets, quantum simulators, or similar systems. The successful candidate will have opportunities to collaborate with other condensed matter faculty. Prior experience with experimental collaborations is preferred, but not required.

A Ph.D. in theoretical condensed matter physics, theoretical atomic molecular and optical physics, or a similar field is required before starting the position. The appointment is initially for two years, and the position is to begin Fall 2026. The level of this appointment is ideal for candidates who have recently completed their Ph.D. or will complete their Ph.D. before the start of the position.
