Duke University, Duke Quantum Center
Position Description
The Duke Quantum Center is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on the advancement and implementation of quantum field simulations, broadly defined. The position involves designing, executing, and analyzing current or future quantum simulations at the intersection of subatomic physics and quantum information science. The successful candidate will also lead peer-reviewed publications and develop computational methods to interpret complex data. In addition to research responsibilities, the postdoctoral researcher will actively engage in group meetings, journal clubs, and departmental seminars, and will have opportunities to mentor undergraduate and graduate students, support new group members, and collaborate with colleagues across the Duke research community. Required Qualifications at this Level Education/Training: PhD (theoretical nuclear/high-energy physics, quantum information science, lattice gauge theories, quantum many-body dynamics) Experience: Preferred--computational experience in simulating/implementing quantum algorithms for field theories on quantum hardware. Appointment Detail: This post‑doctoral position is a full‑time, 12‑month appointment with annual renewal contingent on performance and funding availability. Position has the opportunity for a multi-year appointment.
