The Department of Biology at Mount Allison University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month sessional (non-tenure track and non-continuing) position for the period August 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027, subject to budgetary approval. We are looking for someone to teach our first-year cell biology course (BIOL 1501), plus three upper year courses in their area of expertise. Ideally this would include courses in areas such as marine biology or ecology, genetics, or applied fields such as ecotoxicology. However, choice of upper year classes is flexible and will be assigned to fit the successful candidate’s interests. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. by the time of appointment, have a strong commitment to, and experience in, undergraduate teaching, and be strongly committed to equity, diversity, and inclusivity in post-secondary institutions. The appointment will be made at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in departmental activities and will have the opportunity to supervise undergraduate research students if they so desire (student research supervision is not a job requirement).
