Position Description
Part-time Lecturer in Health Administration
Responsibilities
The Lecturer in Health Administration will teach 4-5 courses in both residential and executive masters programs in on-campus/in-person and online or hybrid instruction modes/formats. They will also mentor and advise students and guide cohort capstone coursework and activities. In addition, they may develop and deliver new credit or non-credit bearing courses, including course content, syllabi, and assessments. The Lecturer will report to the dean and partner with the senior associate dean for academic affairs and the academic program director of the Sloan Program in Health Administration on program development to equip students to lead and succeed in an evolving healthcare landscape. They will also collaborate on strengthening partnerships with organizations to expand experiential learning and career opportunities for students. Course topics may include health policy, healthcare strategy, population health, and related special topics. Duties and effort may change based on school and program needs and teaching requirements.
Academic Title Overview
Lecturers are responsible for classroom teaching and its related activities. The position is based on professional qualifications in teaching. Lecturers are expected to teach in the classroom or laboratory; to meet with students during scheduled office hours; to grade assignments and examinations; to contribute to the design, syllabi, and organization of departmental course offerings; and to know applications and development of pedagogy for both early career masters students and senior leader adult learners in the field. Lecturers who have served for several years may be asked to assume administrative responsibilities for departmental course offerings or to train and supervise less experienced colleagues.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in public health, health administration, health sciences, or a closely related population health discipline
- Experience teaching professional graduate students in both traditional and online instruction in a higher education institution, medical school or hospital
- Substantial professional healthcare industry work experience
Pay Range
Lecturer: $51,300 – $127,200 (9-month annual salary range at 100% FTE). The anticipated part-time 9-month annual salary range at 60% FTE is $75,500 - $80,500. Actual salary offer will be based on education, experience, discipline and relevant skills.

Pay Ranges:
The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:
- Prior relevant work or industry experience.
- Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
- Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
