Position Description
The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University invites applications for the position of Adjunct Professor to teach the course “Corporate Restructuring” in Fuqua’s Daytime MBA program in the spring of 2027. This course covers all types of corporate restructuring by firms: mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged buyouts by private equity firms, as well as “distressed restructuring”, i.e. bankruptcy. Other topics include merger integration and the governance of firms, i.e. board of directors responsibilities during each of these types of restructuring. The focus for each topic is “how do deals get done” and the finance tools used to execute each type of transaction. In addition to cases and lectures, materials utilized will include such tools as deal “pitchbooks” and investor presentations by firms to their stakeholders. Candidates should hold an advanced degree and/or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
