Position Description

Duke Kunshan University (DKU) invites applications for a senior faculty position at the rank of tenure-track/tenured associate/full professor in Climate Health to begin in the academic year 2026-2027. The faculty member will be primarily affiliated with the Master Science Program in Global Health (MSc-GH) and will have close interactions with other academic units, including the Global Health Research Center (GHRC), the International Master Program in Environmental Policy (iMEP), the Division of Social Sciences, etc. His/her potential responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

· Conduct and lead interdisciplinary research on the links between climate change and human health, with focus of climate health, environmental health, environmental epidemiology, population health, green healthcare and climate-health policy, driving the development of evidence-based policies and innovative solutions.

· Foster strategic relationships and build partnerships with key global and local stakeholders, particularly Duke and Duke-NUS, in the domains of climate change, health, and sustainability.

· Collaborate with academic institutions, such as Duke and Duke-NUS, governmental agencies, and international organizations to foster leadership in addressing climate-health challenges.

· Mentor and train the next generation of leaders and practitioners in environmental epidemiology, climate policy, sustainability, and global health through course works, training modules, and direct supervision.

· Candidates with interdisciplinary backgrounds who employ computational methods and causal inferences in their research on climate health to drive innovative solutions are particularly encouraged to apply.

· Candidates with expertise in policy, the ability to engage with media to drive public discourses, communication and/or education in climate health are particularly encouraged to apply.

·  Candidates who can partner with major funding sponsors to thrive are particularly encouraged to apply.

In order to meet Chinese visa requirements, prior to the position start date, international (non-Chinese) candidates must have worked full-time (work experience obtained while studying full-time is not considered as full-time work experience) for at least two years in a relevant area (including post-doctoral work) after receiving their Bachelor’s degree, or begin their appointment at DKU within 12 months of obtaining their master’s degree/Ph.D. and without having work experience between graduation date on master’s degree diploma/Ph.D. diploma and position start date.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in a relevant field. Research experience at a postdoctoral level (or greater) and teaching experience are desirable, as is working experience in an interdisciplinary setting.
