Position Description
The Master’s of Engineering (M.Eng) in Design & Technology Innovation (DTI) in the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University (Durham, NC) invites applications for multiple Non-Regular Rank Adjunct Professor positions. Ideal candidates will have relevant industry experience in one or more of the following, or related, areas: design innovation methodologies, e.g. human-centered design, equity-centered design and design justice, design thinking, speculative design, and/or other related methodologies; user experience design, engineering and/or research, e.g. user interface and experience design, front-end engineering, quant/qual user experience research, participatory research methods and co-design, AR/VR experience design, and/or other related areas; creative technology and hardware-software development and prototyping, e.g. web/mobile development, no- and low-code prototyping methods, XR development, interactive device design, 2D/3D CAD, digital fabrication, design for manufacturing, and/or other related areas; applied data science and artificial intelligence for applications in design and innovation. Candidates with graduate degrees, especially at the PhD level, are preferred and strongly encouraged to apply, as are candidates with commensurate industry experience/expertise in related disciplines of engineering, design, data and computer sciences, and related fields. Candidates with teaching/course development experience are strongly encouraged to apply. This position is expected to be part time, but other levels of commitment may be considered.
