The Gerecht Lab at BME Duke is collaborating with Nokia Bell Labs to create innovative solutions for in vivo monitoring of regeneration. We seek a highly-motivated individual to pursue full-time research in our supportive and collaborative environment. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary research group with access to equipment and expertise in optical/electronic instrumentation, biomaterials, and regeneration. 

As part of our team, you will: 
• Develop and implement state-of-the-art biomonitoring approaches for regeneration in animal models 
• Work at the cross-section of optical systems, biomaterials, and image processing 
• Collaborate with a wide array of internal (within Duke University) as well as reputed external industrial partners 
• Publish research findings in high-impact academic journals and conferences. 

Your Skills & Experience: We seek a candidate with experience in conducting animal studies and the use of biomedical optics (such as optical coherence tomography [OCT] and/or non-linear optical systems). Experience in regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, and biomaterials is a plus. 

The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience, and candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
