Associate in Research position is immediately available in the Cardiac Electrophysiology and Tissue Engineering laboratory of Biomedical Engineering Department at Duke University under Professor Nenad Bursac (http://bursaclab.pratt.duke.edu/). Responsibilities include sterile cell culture, molecular cloning, viral design and production, cell transfections and transductions, qRT-PCR, immunofluorescence staining and imaging, immunoblotting, optical mapping of electrical activity in cell cultures, and animal work to assist with cell isolation and echocardiographic measurements. The candidate should be able to work alone and in team, independently review related scientific literature to troubleshoot encountered problems and improve on used methodologies. The candidate will also occasionally train and supervise undergraduate and graduate students in cell culture and molecular biology techniques.

Required qualifications: B.S. or M.S. degree in biology, biomedical engineering, or related field with experience with cell culture, molecular biology, and biochemical techniques.
