Assist in the development of a curriculum framework for BME590, which includes compiling and organizing lecture content, readings, and homework assignments focused on high-throughput screening (HTS) principles, assay development, and data analysis.
Integrate educational technologies such as Jupyter Notebooks and other Python-based teaching tools into the course material to enhance learning experiences in bioautomation.
Design hands-on project outlines and materials for the second half of the course, which will utilize PyHamilton/PyLabRobot for practical learning applications.
Coordinate with the professor to organize resources and guest lectures on bioautomation and future trends in the field.
Ensure all course materials are organized and ready for course launch in the fall semester.
Qualifications:
Degree in a technical or quantitative field such as biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
Strong proficiency in Python and experience with Jupyter Notebooks or similar computational tools.
Interest in developing educational content and a knack for creating structured, engaging learning materials.
Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and manage multiple aspects of a project independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with curriculum development or educational tool integration.
Knowledge of automation technologies, especially related to robotics platforms like PyHamilton and PyLabRobot.
Background in high-throughput screening techniques and assay development.
Why Join Us: This internship provides a unique chance to contribute to the establishment of a cutting-edge course in a leading bioengineering program. You will develop skills in educational design and technology integration in a highly interdisciplinary setting. This position is perfect for someone looking to influence the future of biomedical education while gaining expertise in a high-demand area of technological education.
