The Chilkoti Lab at Duke University, Department of Biomedical Engineering, seeks a Senior Research Scientist. The position is focused on implementing advanced technologies to improve recombinant protein and antibody therapeutics. The candidate should have a track record of demonstrated success at the post-PhD level, and will ideally possess relevant translational research experience in the biotechnology industry.

Key responsibilities include: Designing and executing experiments and performing associated data analyses, developing project plans and effectively allocating resources, presenting results in regular group meetings and attending relevant conferences, assisting with grant writing and the submission of proposals, mentoring junior lab personnel and training new team members and contributing to a collaborative and supportive group culture.

Required skills include: Expertise in a wide range of molecular biology techniques for cell and protein engineering, recombinant protein expression and purification from mammalian cells and bacteria, high-throughput approaches for protein screening, mammalian transformed and primary cell culture, familiarity with rodent models of cancer and experience with bioinformatics methods for analyzing large datasets.

Educational requirement: Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
