Position Description

Applications are invited for a project researcher position at the Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (Kavli IPMU (WPI)), the University of Tokyo.

The successful candidate will conduct research in cosmology with a focus on the cosmic microwave background (CMB) and its B-mode polarization. The project addresses key scientific goals of current and future CMB experiments through both theoretical studies and data analysis, including cosmic birefringence, CMB lensing, and primordial gravitational waves. While previous experience in these areas is highly valued, we also enthusiastically welcome applications from motivated individuals who are eager to newly explore these topics, regardless of their prior research background. The successful candidate is expected to work with Toshiya Namikawa, a faculty member at Kavli IPMU.

This position is supported by the JSPS KAKENHI project, “Cosmology with a New Analysis Method for B-mode Polarization of the Cosmic Microwave Background” (25K00996, PI: Toshiya Namikawa, https://kaken.nii.ac.jp/en/grant/KAKENHI-PROJECT-25K00996/).
