INTRODUCTION

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Connecticut is pleased to invite applications for one or more non-tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor-in-Residence at the Storrs campus. The successful candidate will primarily contribute to the Department's teaching program. 

The successful candidate will share a deep commitment to effective instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels, innovative courses and instruction methods, and mentoring of students in research, outreach, and professional development. The successful candidate will also be expected to broaden participation among members of underrepresented groups; demonstrate through research, teaching, and/or public engagement the commitment to, and support of, diversity in the learning experience; integrate multicultural experiences into instructional methods and research tools; provide leadership in developing pedagogical techniques designed to meet the needs of diverse learning styles and intellectual interests.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in computing sciences or related field by the time of appointment; candidates at the Assistant Professor-in-Residence level must have a proven record of potential in teaching; candidates at the Associate Professor-in-Residence level must have a proven record of excellence in teaching computer science. Candidates at either level must have a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and enhancing inclusion as proven through their academic and research programs. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Expertise in several areas of computer science and an outstanding record of research and scholarship; commitment to effective teaching, and the use of innovative techniques; the ability to effectively communicate with students in both large and small audiences; the ability to contribute through research, teaching, and/or public engagement to the diversity and excellence of the learning experience.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a full-time, 9-month, annually renewable non-tenure-track position with the possibility of subsequent annual academic-year reappointment, contingent on positive reviews and program funding, and may lead to a multi-year appointment. Employment is conditional upon the timely completion of an approved I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification Form). Candidates must be able to begin work on August 23, 2022.
