Position Description
The Duke University Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Pratt School of Engineering is seeking applicants for multiple Assistant Professor faculty positions. Early career researchers doing innovative work in all areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering are encouraged to apply. We are particularly interested in candidates specializing in the following focus areas: (1) Engineering Physics: Candidates with a strong background in systems-level or application-driven research directed towards the creation, manipulation, or detection of electromagnetic fields (including RF, optical, and X-ray) or acoustic fields; computational electromagnetism; or hardware design, are encouraged to apply. (2) Computer Engineering: We are seeking individuals adept in computing systems, with a focus on cyber-physical systems, networking, and the hardware underpinning artificial intelligence applications. (3) Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML): Ideal candidates will have expertise in AI/ML foundations, especially in the contexts of speech/audio processing, image/video analysis, natural language processing, among other application domains.- Cover letter (with contact information);

- Research statement (no more than 3 pages) that includes a description of past research accomplishments, plans for future research, and their experience and approach to mentoring and supporting a diverse and inclusive research environment;
- Teaching statement (no more than 3 pages) describing teaching philosophy, previous experiences, future plans for teaching, and experience and approach to fostering an inclusive learning and mentoring environment for their students; and
- List of three references who will provide letters on behalf of the candidate.
