Position Description
Faculty position in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University (Ithaca campus) invites applications for a faculty position (all ranks considered) in the broad areas of natural and engineered systems and their robustness, resiliency and sustainability in the face of climate change and extreme events. Some areas of interest include, but are not limited to:- Resilience and/or robustness to extreme events, natural catastrophes, human-induced disasters, and compound hazards
- Structures under mechanical and environmental fluctuations
- Advances in subsurface and above-ground systems for sustainable climate solutions
- Sustainable materials
- Advances in sensing systems for emissions quantification, fate and transport of pollutants
- The intersection of human, urban and ecosystem health
- Marine energy
- Resiliency and robustness to high percentages of intermittent energy sources
- Coastal extremes and sea level rise
- Water scarcity
- Smart infrastructure
- Inter-disciplinary approaches to robustness, resiliency and sustainability of nature and the built environment
Assistant Professor: $79,400 - $211,600
Associate Professor: $97,500 - $239,000
Full Professor: $109,500 - $329,600
The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:
Prior relevant work or industry experience.
Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
Unique applicable skills.
