Position Description
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Southern California (USC) invites applications for multiple postdoctoral positions in the fields of theoretical and computational cosmology, gravitational waves, and astroparticle physics, broadly defined. We seek highly motivated applicants who have obtained, or are about to obtain, a Ph.D. in physics, astrophysics, or a related field. Research experience in theoretical cosmology, cosmological data analysis, cosmological simulations, gravitational waves, or astroparticle physics is highly valued. The successful applicants will work in collaboration with Profs. Kris Pardo & Vera Gluscevic, and will have opportunities to collaborate with scientists at Carnegie Observatories and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and with other groups at USC. Postdoctoral scholars at USC have access to computational resources via the Center for Advanced Research Computing at USC (https://carc.usc.edu/). The duration of the postdoctoral appointment is up to four years, with renewable one-year terms based on satisfactory performance, per University policy. A competitive salary, funds for research and travel, and a benefits package will be provided. For full consideration, applications must be submitted online at https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo and include a cover letter, research statement summarizing the applicant's ongoing research and future interests (up to 3 pages, excluding references and figures), a CV with a current list of publications, and the contact information for three references. Letters will only be requested at the interview stage. Applications will be reviewed beginning December 18th, 2023, and the position will remain open until filled. For more information, please contact Prof. Vera Gluscevic at vera.gluscevic@usc.edu or Prof. Kris Pardo at kmpardo@usc.edu. USC is an equal-opportunity educator and employer, proudly pluralistic and firmly committed to providing equal opportunity for outstanding persons of every race, gender, creed and background. The University particularly encourages women, members of underrepresented groups, veterans and individuals with disabilities to apply. USC will make reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with known disabilities unless doing so would result in an undue hardship. Further information is available by contacting uschr@usc.edu.Application Materials Required:
