Position Description

The Particle Theory Group at the University of Victoria invites applications for McDonald Institute Postdoctoral Theory Fellowships in the field of theoretical astroparticle physics, including all aspects of dark matter phenomenology. Group members working in this field include David McKeen, David Morrissey, and Adam Ritz. Top-ranked applications will be sent to the Canadian MI Theory Evaluation committee, who will allocate fellowships. First round offers will be made in mid-to-late January, and the expected starting date is September 2025.

The Particle Theory Group (https://www.uvic.ca/research/groups/particle/) includes faculty members Kristan Jensen, Pavel Kovtun, and Adam Ritz in Victoria, and adjunct faculty members David McKeen and David Morrissey based at TRIUMF in Vancouver, with research interests covering formal particle theory in addition to particle and astroparticle phenomenology. The Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Victoria also contains active research groups in observational and computational astronomy and cosmology, in experimental particle physics, and in condensed matter physics and quantum computing.
