Position Description

Faculty Position in High-Energy Physics, Tel Aviv University - Department of Particle Physics

The Department of Particle Physics at Tel Aviv University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in high-energy physics. Outstanding candidates with a Ph.D. and a record of excellence in research are encouraged to apply. Appointment at a higher rank may be considered for applicants with appropriate experience and distinction. The search is open to all areas of high-energy physics.

Our high-energy physics group conducts research in a wide range of fields, including quantum field theory, string theory, physics beyond the Standard Model, dark matter, astroparticle physics, collider phenomenology, neutrino physics, QCD, nuclear physics, as well as emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and quantum information. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an independent research program that complements and strengthens existing efforts, while mentoring students and postdoctoral researchers.

The theory group includes: Yakir Aharonov, Naftali Auerbach, Michael Geller, David Horn, Lawrence Horwitz, Nissan Itzhaki, Marek Karliner, Evgeny Levin, Shmuel Nussinov, Oren Slone, Yaron Oz, Benni Reznik, Amit Sever, Cobi Sonnenschein, Benjamin Svetitsky, Lev Vaidman, Tomer Volansky, and Shimon Yankielowicz. The experimental group is active in major international collaborations—including ATLAS (LHC), Belle II, DUNE, MicroBooNE, SENSEI, NASDUCK, LUXE, and MATHUSLA—and includes Halina Abramowicz, Adi Ashkenazi, Liron Barak, Gideon Bella, Erez Etzion, Itzhak Kelson, Igor Korover, Aharon Levy, Jechiel Lichtenstadt, Eli Piasetzky, Ishay Pomerantz, and Abner Soffer.

Applicants should submit a CV, a list of publications, and a research statement. In addition, at least three letters of recommendation should be provided.

Applications should be submitted by December 1, 2025 for full consideration. Later applications may be reviewed subject to availability of the position. The search will remain open until the position is filled.
