Position Description
The University of Victoria invites applications for MI-CITA Theory Fellowships in the fields of theoretical astroparticle physics and cosmology, including all aspects of dark matter and neutrino phenomenology. UVic members working in astroparticle theory include David McKeen, David Morrissey, and Adam Ritz, and members working in theoretical astrophysics and cosmology include Arif Babul, Falk Herwig and Julio Navarro. Top-ranked applications will be sent to the MI-CITA Theory Evaluation committee of the McDonald Institute, who will allocate fellowships. First round offers will be made in December, and the expected starting date is September 2026.
Interested applicants are requested to provide a CV including a list of publications, a brief research statement, and arrange for three letters of recommendation, to be submitted via https://academicjobsonline.org/. Review of applications will begin on November 25, 2025.

The UVic Particle Theory Group includes faculty members Kristan Jensen, Pavel Kovtun, and Adam Ritz in Victoria, and adjunct faculty members David McKeen and David Morrissey based at TRIUMF in Vancouver. The UVic Astronomy Research Centre includes faculty members Arif Babul, Sara Ellison, Falk Herwig, Julio Navarro, Kim Venn and Jon Willis, and several adjunct faculty members at NRC Herzberg and TRIUMF, with research interests covering all areas of observational and computational astrophysics and cosmology. The Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Victoria also contains active research groups in related fields including experimental particle physics, condensed matter physics and quantum computing.
