 An opening for a postdoctoral associate position is immediately available in the Gersbach Lab at Duke University, Pratt School of Engineering, Department of Biomedical Engineering (http://gersbach.bme.duke.edu). We are looking for a highly motivated candidate.

Job responsibilities will include performing various genetic screens of primary human T cells to enhance potency and durability for applications in cancer therapy. This will include validation and characterization of screen hits with various cell culture assays and studies of mouse tumor models. Moreover, you will be responsible for identifying plans for translation of these approaches for human clinical testing, including identifying optimal oncology settings for these technologies and planning IND-enabling studies.

 
The postdoctoral fellow will work with a collaborative and interdisciplinary team of faculty, postdoctoral associates, graduate and undergraduate students conducting research and training on human gene regulation and gene therapy. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, participate in conferences for the intellectual exchange of research ideas, engage in existing and new collaborations within and outside Duke University, and assist with training of undergraduate and graduate students, as needed. The training environment of the Gersbach group is highly interdisciplinary and provides ample opportunities for scientific growth and pursuit of both academic and industry careers.
