The African American Studies Program at Boston University invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position, beginning July 2015. We seek a colleague suitable for joint appointment in any of the discipline(s) of Anthropology, Economics, History, Political Science, Sociology, or Social Work whose research and teaching focus on the African American experience, with particular emphasis on North America in the contemporary period. Candidates with complementary interests in and appreciation for the international and comparative dimensions of African American life are especially encouraged to apply. Areas of specialization within disciplines are open. Boston University expects excellence in teaching and in research and is committed to building a culturally diverse faculty and a multicultural learning environment. Candidates must have completed all requirements for the PhD before September 1, 2015.
