Specific duties will include making high-resolution measurements of ocular compliance in mouse eyes from different mouse strains; analyzing experimental results; working closely with collaborators at Emory University to carry out bioinformatics analysis of gene loci associations; development of one or more mice with altered gene function to explore the impact on glaucomatous damage; writing papers; and assisting with grant preparation. The start date is as soon as possible, with anticipated duration of 2 years. Applicants should have: a PhD in biomechanics, ocular physiology or ocular genetics; experience with use of mice for scientific studies; and strong quantitative and computer skills.
